For the exibition ‘Low Tide’ my eye fell on the old
stone anchors, which are still found in the polder earth after 60 years. The video film scans the first ebb, the dry land after the land reclamation. The first human plows his way through the sucking mud and bounces on a stone. The first anchor stone on dry land. He anchors the future of the polder country to it’s past, when the surf of the sea still sounded on the Schokkerse seawall.
